Who Are We?

Our multidisciplinary team is composed of nationally recognized surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other medical experts. All of our providers have devoted their careers to fighting prostate cancer. Their collective years of experience and training allow for a precise diagnosis and treatment plan for each individual patient.

How is Prostate Cancer Treated?

Once your prostate cancer has been diagnosed, graded, and staged, there is much to think about before you and your physician choose a treatment plan. The plan depends upon many variables including:

  • Type of cancer
  • Whether or not the cancer has spread (metastasized)
  • Your age and general health status
  • Prior prostate treatments you have undergone
  • Your feelings (and physician’s recommendation) about the need to treat the cancer

You will want to weigh the benefits of each treatment against its possible outcomes, side effects, and risks.

What Are Some Standard Prostate Therapies?

There are three standard therapies for men with organ-confined prostate cancer. In order to provide an unbiased recommendation, it is important to consult both urologic surgeons and radiation oncologists. The therapies include:

  • Active surveillance
  • Surgery (radical prostatectomy)
  • Radiation therapy
